As the temperatures begin to dip, now is the perfect time to give your minibus a little extra attention. A few simple checks now can make all the difference to your confidence and safety on the road throughout the colder months.
Here’s 7 quick tips to help you get winter-ready:
1, Confirm scheduled maintenance
Double-check whether we’ve already been in touch about any upcoming maintenance. Staying on top of planned work prevents unexpected issues later on.
2, Carry out a full winter check
A seasonal inspection can highlight any developing concerns before the cold sets in.
3, Test all electrics
Make sure lights, washers, wipers, the heater, and air conditioning are all working correctly. Remember: air conditioning isn’t just for summer—it helps clear condensation and supports efficient heating.
4, Inspect tyre condition
Check tread depths and pressures. Tread should ideally be above 3mm for winter driving, and don’t forget that tyre pressures naturally drop as temperatures fall.
5, Check fluid levels
Review coolant, brake fluid, and screen wash levels. When topping up, avoid using water or washing-up liquid. Stick to the correct screen wash or coolant. If your brake fluid is low, please don’t top it up yourself. Low fluid can indicate worn brake pads, so get in touch and we’ll take a look.
6, Check wiper blades
Ensure they’re clearing the windscreen effectively and replace them if needed.
7, Keep the vehicle running regularly
A 30-minute drive every so often helps maintain battery health, especially as cold weather can cause voltage to drop.
